Welcome to The Whale :: A Craft Beer Collective
In craft beer jargon, a “whale” means a sought-after and hard to find craft beer. Much like the elusive sea mammal, our bar takes some seeking out. Go around the back of the building at 507 Haywood Road in West Asheville to find us.
What We Do
While our selection of liquids is vast, you won’t find all the same beers that are served at other bars around town. While Asheville has some fantastic local craft beers, we showcase something different. We handpick each selection of world-class craft beer from around the globe while paying special attention to quality and history. Often, we are fortunate to brew collaborations beers with breweries that are “Whale Exclusives”.
Find us at 507 Haywood Road in West Asheville.
Something For Everyone
There is something for every tastebud and every budget at the Whale, from vintage bottles out of the cellar to crushable craft beer cans. We also serve wine, cider, sake, mead, kombucha, and craft soda (and rosé on draft!). Click here to view today’s draft list, package list, and cellar menu.
20 ever-rotating tap selections and an extensive bottle selection of craft beers, wines, meads, sakes, and ciders.
We invite you to come in and enjoy a “White Whale” you have always wanted to try and have never gotten your hands on. Or quench your thirst with your favorite ol’ reliable German pilsner. Or sip something you have never seen or heard of, but are glad you discovered it at The Whale :: A Craft Beer Collective.
We are open:
Well-behaved dogs are welcome inside and on the patio. Food is available to be ordered from the Haywood Common restaurant (Tuesday-Sunday), which is adjacent to the bar, and outside food may also be brought in.
